Some are actually scams as they take the gold plated boards and keep those for resale to friends. Does your friend do it that way? Actually, Bill, my friend was having some problems with the guys she's contracted to do the bulk of the refurbishing for her company. I don't think she has any stake at all in whether or not gold-plated boards get pulled from donated machines, but her contractor certainly may. Thanks a lot for the interesting post. I guess people'll just have to buy NEW Mac's, huh? Mark
