I think you'll find that your dealing with a few folks here who have been around the block once or twice. Not too many of the "duh, i see there was a split, what was the price again?" ilk.

What is it that you want me to say, that the price is actually 62 now and it was 22 in the fall of '96?

Semi equipment makers will get hit hard after the earnings reports are finished, in about two weeks. August throgh October will be the worst period for this group.

Dave - AMAT never hit 11 in 96 The point is that revenues in this downturn are going to be substantially lower than in the last downturn and yet the minimum market cap is going to be more than twice the minimum market cap of 96 ($11/share x current shares outstanding = 22 x pre-split share outstanding). For a comparible market cap AMAT would have to go to less than 11.
