You know if I ordered a new data vendor, I would start with manual and help file. I also would go back about a year in archives and read the posts on this topic. If I were interested in MSWIN 6.5 or WOW 5.0. I would read their topics. I would do a search on the net, seeking out their sites and other info.

Even after I recieve a new program, I read manual and help files before jumping into running program. We live in a world that seeks instant gradification with little effort. It becomes very taxing to produce a product that can fit everyone's level of ability or their desires.

Out on a metastock list, someone was upset, because QP2 was using different symbol names then the ones HE had set up in his other files. Now what would make him think that QP would know what changes he had made without telling the program. The lack of logic in the user produces 90% of most problems. BTW: QP has a translate table so that you can change the symbols to one that you want to use. like !DJ30 = INDU.

OK I read the manual and went to the help files but cannot find where it tells you how to update your metastock files with the historical data. I had (and have since reloaded) all historical data and current updates to c:\qphistdata and c:\qpdata directories, respectively. I can see the data in qp2 but can only display 2-3 months in metastock. I've clicked on the x-axis in metastock but the display date wont change. How can I download the historical data to my existing metastock files or do I need to create new files and download the entire historical files to metastock? Thanks for any advice.
