"Waat root vier" was the other phrase I learned. During WWII they must have suspected everyone of being a spy, since no one can pronounce Scheveningen except a native Dutch person :-) We lived in an older house there, and the basement had a hiding place used during the War. I think Holland is the most civilized country in the world. Except during New Year's eve. And I do wish they would send more Grolsh to this country. The real stuff, not the export variety.
