Okay, now that you mention it I remember the earlier link. I think I gave up after the first question "Sex?" when I couldn't find the "Yes" check box. <ggg>

Moonray,

I took the survey. I was disappointed that
they didn't ask anything about modems.

I figured it was just an information round up for
advertisers. They're trying to see basic demographics
of the readers, so that the site could continue by
selling space to computer hardware advertisers.

I filled it out with the idea that my 30 seconds
would keep that site alive<gg>

Now that I think of it, they should have an extensive
questionaire on modem usage and performance experiences.
This may lead some people to realize sooner rather
than later that x2/56K is the way to go.

Maybe I will email them this suggesting.

joe

InfoWorld rumor. 3Com resellers defecting to Cisco

infoworld.com

Clearing the DEC

This whole dilemma is presumably of very little interest now to Bruce Claflin, who quit as Digital's senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing when the company merged with Compaq and last week accepted the post of president and chief operating officer at 3Com. Apparently, though, he is jumping straight into the middle of more relationship problems, although this time they are between 3Com and its resellers.

According to one source, Claflin's appointment was prompted by the fact that many of 3Com's resellers are defecting to Cisco. The story goes that 3Com CEO Eric Benhamou didn't believe the company's reseller strategy was in trouble, but the board did, which is why they wanted to bring in some new blood to deal with it.
