Add Jackson Hewitt Tax Service to the list. I just got back from a meeting in New Orleans where Mike Trainer,CEO (former vp marketing/advertising with Cent 21) reported good things. A sr. mgm't CD company meeting was monday where 10% ownership in Cd was present. The reports were that all the companies (former HSF I think) doing record numbers. CD mortgage did more the 1st 6 months t/y than l/y total. These companies all doing very good. Jackson Hewitt has super outlook. Lots of cash at CD with more to come.

The view at this meeting was that CD has a stock problem not a company problem at this time with emotions/media playing a big part concerning the fraud, but when all is over the huge cash position will prevail and confidence will come back and solid gains/growth will be the norm. "CD will be the cleanest-squeeky clean company available after the audits etc are in." The outlook according to Mike is very good. Nothing was said about Forbes of course. I don't know if he was there, but I doubt it. Sounded like only the Silverman group was there (my thoughts only). None of the Silverman/Forbes views were expressed.

Century 21, ERA, Coldwell Banker, Travelodge, Ramada, Avis...etc are doing great. Then the Cendantsoft division (Blizzard, Knowledge Adventure, Sierra...etc) is doing marvelously with record sales in both entertainment and educational fields.

Note that these are all heritage HFS businesses. The implication is that the CUC businesses are not doing anything noteworthy or positive.

_____

The software division is a former CUC business.
