If the terms were solely up to the investors, there would not be an Oct. 6th date, the convertibles would not be callable at all! Optional redemption (call) is always put in for the benefit of the issuer, not the investors. Therefore, the terms were negotiated between the parties, and OCOM wanted a call period of 3 months. Why? Because they hope they will have the cash to call the convertibles. Will they? That's the question nobody can answer right now.
