I was kind'a thinking of going with private thoroughfare, has a much more elegant ring to it. <LOL>

One thing we need to figure out is how much of the $21.95 does the trading company we go through get. I'm sure that if some of these on-line brokers can charge as little as $5.00 per trade, it must not be too much. Anyone have any ideas on this?

I just stumbled across something on RB board that might be of concern to those of us on this board. It appears that it is possible to access and read other peoples PM's here on SI. I don't know it to be a fact but here is the link to the original message, just follow the thread from there.

TAX QUESTION....Thanx in advance....

This is the first year in which I traded using real money. I previously just paper traded. Anyway, Do I include the commisions in my capital gains and loses?.... Also, here is an example I have of a question I have:

Suppose I bought 5,000 shares of (some stock) at 0.25
for a total of 1,250 + 8.00 commisions = 1,258

Then I sold only 1,000 shares of the same stock at 0.40
for a total of $400 + 8.00 commissions = $408.00

What would I put down on my taxes? and how did you compute it
the easiest way? Again, thanx in advance... I'm sure if someone can
point me to the answer of this one transaction, I should be able to
figure the rest of them out... I was told that Sure Trade doesn't
send a end of the year statement, so I'll need to check everything.
