Very concise and just speculation:

--After the Q1 announcement, a determined group shorted THQI and put out a downgrade based on THQI being over-dependent on WCW revenues. Together this tanked the stock back to 20.

--THQI recovered when they announced WWF deals in 1999 which will replace WCW. In the meantime, other games have sold well. Put simply, there were no more chinks in the armor to insert a short wedge, so the 1 million short shares became fuel for the rebound fire.

Anyone seen Stagger Lee around lately?

--Anyway, any stock with an erratic past can be erratic again. Possible causes: earnings less than spectacular for some reason, a forward-looking statement with some reservations, a higher than predicted amount of WCW revenue this quarter.

Go back and read the posts from Todd Wiener, Bleeker and Haines. They know this company as well as Farrell does. If you buy their analysis, then buy some shares.

For the record, I have been in and out of THQI since 7, now hold shares at 32 and did very well with July calls. I am holding THQI until 50 or so because I believe that THQI management will always bounce back from whatever the Street throws at them.

Just one view from an amateur THQI watcher. Good luck.

Bill, I started reading through some of the old posts - I didn't realize there were so many - about 4000 since March 98 when I joined the thread! I've gone through a few of them and pulled out some of my favorites which you may also find interesting. First, #3971, soon after the WCW license non-renewal announcement. No one had heard from Todd in awhile and it was feared that he had been abducted by aliens. The thread was very relieved when he returned with this:

Then there was Todd's assessment of where things stood, eloquently stated in #4046,
Message 3721928
followed by the famous, "hear me now, believe me later" post
Message 3867608
Soon after, with the price of THQI ridiculously low, the "buy, buy, buy" post which also includes an excellent comparison of THQI with other companies in the industry,

Bleeker relayed his notes from Lin, the analyst, in #4652

and was very pleased, as was yours truly, after the Q1 earnings announcement

Not everyone was impressed with the big first quarter, as resident short StaggerLee pointed out with

Todd provided a summary of Q1 in #4800
Message 4154182
Todd noticed that the stock was not behaving as anticipated on the day following the earnings announcement with #4812

Todd's notes from the conference call and his assessment are revealed in #4858 and #4896

Message 4166878

Todd responed to Stagger with
Message 4195986
and Jeff (007) Bond voiced the consensus of the thread that we were in agreement with Todd
Message 4207547

One of everyone's favorites, even the shorts had to appreciate this one, Todd's "Life of Brian" post

There were a lot of other great posts but now I've gone half blind from reading all these things again too, hope it helps.
