Could someone explain who the potential clients and competitors would be for ONLINE Merchant? What about the "vertical Integration -complete solution" to e-commerce that esecurities referred to with HTML et. al. Would SQ and its partner be competing with the likes of OpenMarket who seem to charge clients for custom solutions? Or are they in a different market altogether - ie. smaller/simpler applications? If so, aren't there a 100 companies in the running and what if any advantage does SQ possess to be in the top 10??? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

SoftQuad Inc Spin-Off:Taurus Capital Markets?!?!

esecurities has learned that Taurus Capital Markets Ltd, Toronto has been retained regarding the sale/spin-off of SoftQuad,
Inc... <Taurus_Capital_Markets_Ltd> hotbot.com ...On first swipe this engagement simply makes no sense...very simply and obviously the investment bankers driving the Netscape acquisition of Kiva [11/97] for $179 million roaster.com and Sun Microsystems' acquisition of Net Dynamics [7/98] biz.yahoo.com should have been the ones retained for this very critical/time sensitive shareholder value maximization corporate growth strategy...accordingly it is our opinion shareholder value will not be maximized with this apparently very questionable and naive decision...
