Hello ATHM thread,

Thanks for your insights Hiram and Ahahha. Seems like you've established yourselves as the knowledgeable pros on this thread. You've also been the major source of my homework on this stock via SI.

I am a cable modem user and a relatively new investor. I hold Dell (going for the double when it hits 120!) and some TDFX (ahem, let's not talk about that one). I bought the previous two based on my own personal experience and some basic stock research. My cable modem has lead me to ATHM and others as possible new portfolio additions. As a user, I can see that the future of the technology is bright so this a good race to be in, as an investor I have the more difficult task of choosing the right horse to bring to the finish.

I'm salivating over ATHM and BRCM. My question: At these prices can we expect anymore short term appreciation? I already know in the long term they're going places but I ask the shortsighted question because I want to ride a the coaster on the way up, not the way down and then back up again.

I undertand that investing is supposed to be about long term commitments, however TDFX has taught me to test the waters before I get my hair wet.

I've read the threads, looked at some numbers, I'd like to ask the SI analysts what they see as the major 2-3 challenges and advantages facing ATHM in the emerging data/communications fields?

All observations, comments, suggestions, prognostications (spelling?) and other forms of communication welcome.

Regards,
Stuart
