Thread,
GE Capital is taking some rather aggresive steps into Japan. See ( biz.yahoo.com ).
GE represents a considerable investment for me. So far I am having great difficulty in getting a picture of Japanese consumer credit characteristics. Statistics like average debt load, default rates, bankruptcy procedures, cultural aspects of debt, etc.
Can anyone point me to a site or sites (book or books) where I can take a crash course in Japanese consumer credit.
While we are at it, I don't think GE will limit itself to Japan. Any similar help for Korea, other major Asian markets would be appreciated.
Also looking for a book or books (or series of articles) dealing with the Japanese financial system in detail.

Thanks very much,

Yogi
