John, I was wondering about your firm's position on posting on the message boards on the Internet. Who gives you the directive to post, is it TVL or your firm or both? I've never seen a PR firm on the message boards and was wondering if there was any precedence. Thank you in advance.

John:

Thank-you for the post. Please keep it up.
I work in the film and television business, I have for years in a number of capacities. It seems to me that the encoding process for CBS and others must be a huge undertaking. This is not a throw the switch process. There has to be syndicate compliance, hardware and software expense,etc....Co-ordination at the network level for a project like this must cost both time and money. I am sure they are not sitting around on their thumbs. Do you have any details on the encoding process or time-frame that you can share with us?
I am also curious about the rating system does each show-tape have to be encoded at the dubbing level or are they programmed at transmission? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I would like to pass on an old scottish saying to every-one else
regarding the petty bickering element on the thread.
