I bot the two volume set on that with Coggins writing one of a dozen articles ( Attorney Jack Lacy of Tucson contributed and maybe Mr N also) GREAT work...at a hundred bucks a book...I might add...where did I put it...

Thanks for the information. Here are some questions or comments that popped into my mind while reading your post. The data base is a history of mining not a prenouncement of future operations. When was platinum first mined and why?

They call the Carlin Trend "invisible gold". Unless you know what you are looking for and exactly how to measure it then you will never find it. I believe that the same holds true here. Technology has changed and knowledge levels have increased. Until the 1980's .03 opt would never been extracted economically and today (with adequate tonnage) it is done on a regular basis.

If we only look at history then one can conclude that there are no great discoveries left to be discovered. I do not believe this to be true but I do look forward to this great discovery being history rather than in the future.
