WordPerfect updates in the works
Corel Corp. says its decision to close its Utah engineering office -- home of its WordPerfect office suite -- doesn't spell the end of WordPerfect. To the contrary, a Corel spokeswoman said the company is currently prepping an update to WordPerfect for Windows and discussing whether to begin work on the next Mac version. ..

Sure, because you have a CEO who doesn't know how to comport himself in terms of addressing the competition. Let's hope he hasn't crushed the possibility of a partnership with Adobe down the road, if there's any road left to go down. It's not enough that he doesn't understand the software industry or the hardware industry, he doesn't understand basic business principals and, IMO, appears to lack what we generally refer to as common sense. When you have been crushed under the weight of your own incompetence you don't spit on passers-by, 'speshly the 800 pound variety. Should Corel find a competent CEO, or even a competent low-level manager acting as CEO, I suspect their next move would be to partner.
