In my opinion, Portico's compelling value proposition that pushes professionals over the edge to use the service is the ability to interact with email via the phone. A couple of questions that I'm hoping someone in-the-know can help me with (answers not apparent in any of the news / literature I've been able to find):

* How does Portico access your email? Do you have to have a special email account with the Portico service provider, or can it somehow access your corporate email system? (If this service can't tie in gracefully with my corporate email system, I'm maybe not interested.)

* To what extent can you compose / reply to email over the phone? Can you really just tell Portico, "Reply, smarkham@genmagic.com. Steve, now I'm a believer. Your product is really cool. End of message"???? (If this service only lets me listen but not interact, I'm maybe not interested.)

I believe that GMGC will really hit the tornado if they can help replace most of the functions that mobile professionals currently use their laptop PCs for.

Information? Opinions?

Looking forward to sharing in your ecstacy or pain on this exciting stock.

Drew

How much of an issue is the amount of time required of each subscriber prior to using Portico? Of course only time will tell but in our convenience based society such a time and brain investment might be a problem I hadn't fully thought out. A previous post described an hour long session, with video, for his company sales force.
