Jim, we can sit on the sidelines, or be players. I've made my choice.

JP,

>> This may seem odd, but in 1929, it was a National economey vs a regional economy. The invention of the telephone, which was a reveloutionary as the PC / internet is today made it very easy for companies to do business nation wide.
Well now we are global. We are also a 10 Trillion economey vs a much smaller number in 1929.
So again, it is different but the same. <<

Wrong again, IMHO!

The 1929 crash fell on an 'Agrarian' (farming) society, and many of the farmers never felt the depression, especially the smaller farms which were nearly self-sufficient. Of course the 'cities' felt the 'pinch' but still the country was primarily farming. (about 90%)

This time, the crunch will be world wide, all right, but on an 'industrial' society, which for the most part can't boil water! If you think that I may be incorrect here, you are welcome to go outside, turn off your electricity, water, and gas (if you have it), and start 'feeding' yourself for the next 3 years.

When this 'baby' comes, you can bet the 'sh*t' will be in the 'fans'. There isn't enough food in the cities for more than a couple of days, gas stations will run out within a week, Unless you have looked at the ramifications of this kind of meltdown, IMHO, you haven't a 'clue'. It is for these reasons that the world economy will do EVERYTHING IN ITS POWER to prevent this from happening. You can bet the 'tri lateral commission' is well aware of what would happen!

- whoops - how did that 'soap box' get here? Who pushed me on that 'da*n' thing anyway! Get away from me!

Regards,

Ken
