NEALZ NUZE The Neal Boortz Show -- News Talk 750 WSB -- Atlanta While I am on the air from 8:30 to Noon (EDT) you can send me e-mail at wsboortz@yahoo.com! Monday, July 20, 1998. DAN RATHER - BIAS PERSONIFIED Time after time, night after night, its the same damn thing on the CBS Evening News. Every time Dan Rather does a story on Kenneth Starr he refers to "Starr's investigation into the President's private life." Dan Rather knows damn well that Starr's investigation is into whether or not Clinton committed perjury, not into his private life. It just so happens that the matter in which Clinton is suspected of committing perjury, and of asking others to do so, concerns his sex life. The law says that you do not lie under oath. The oath DOES NOT read: " I do hereby solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth unless the question is about my sex life so help me God." Federal law calls for a mandatory penalty of from 12 to 18 months in federal prison for perjury in a federal proceeding. Our system of laws absolutely could not work if it were not for the absolute requirement that people tell the truth after having sworn an oath to do so. Rather's bias is obvious. He needs to be called to task on this one. STARR OUT OF CONTROL? We keep hearing, time and time again, that Kenneth Starr is out of control. Tell me, if it is Starr who is out of control, and not Clinton, then just why is it that the federal courts have sided with Starr, and not Clinton, in 12 out of 13 battles with the White House? It seems that it is the White House, not Starr, who is just a bit out of control. REMEMBER THOSE FBI FILES? WELL ... GUESS WHO? You don't hear much about this in the news, but there is a group called Judicial Watch that as filed suit against the Clinton Administration over the illegal gathering of nearly 1000 confidential FBI files by the White House. Judicial Watch has now obtained a new list of the names on the files gathered by the White house. Well, guess who's name showed up? None other than Linda Tripp. Interesting, huh? There is even news that Linda Tripp may have witnessed White House employees copying information from these FBI files into White House Computers. Ah ... but who cares. The economy is, after all, so good. REMEMBER CLAIRE WOLFE? This quote from Claire Wolf came to me over the weekend from a listener. It's a bit rough, but it probably accurately describes the state of affairs: "America is at an awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." Actually, I think the ballot box would still work. Too bad more people don't use it. QUOTE Before I criticize a man, I walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry he's a mile away and barefoot."boortz.com
