Looking for a re-entry point, but nervous.

I'm not as concerned about U. S. scripts right now as I am about Europe. If, as some have posted, Viagra has been approved for virtually over-the-counter sales in U.K., what will that do VVUS foreign revenue growth this quarter?

What kind of a premium would Astra or JNJ pay to acquire VVUS? Is there anything they really want other than the patent? (They wouldn't necessarily want Lakewood or Ireland plants if they can do it cheaper in one of their presumably larger facilities.) And if all they want is the patent, why wouldn't they wait it out until enthusiasm for Viagra has died down world-wide and until they can pick up a cash-depleted VVUS at a fire sale? Sure, they've invested milestone payments in VVUS, but is that going to stop them from brinkmanship in negotiations to acquire VVUS for the lowest price possible?

Can somebody put it all together and make the case for VVUS in '98?

Personally, I think they screwed up the refill number

The new scripts could easily fit in the pattern
The refill scripts are a real oddball looking at weeks and weeks and weeks of data which usually means a screwup.

I do believe the international picture, which we can't even get a fuzzy view, has greatly diminished the importance of the US only scripts.
