I can't answer for Belize but when looking for a home loan here, you can pay anywhere from 0% to 5% easily...it depends on the type of loan, the amount of your loan, the time frame of your loan, whether you're interesting in paying points...this is not a question that can be answered...there are several factors..and no...I don't believe it is out of line...and like I said, who knows what Belize's 'rules' are..and maybe because the loans are guaranteed by the government might have something to do with it too....see there are too many unknown factors to give you a yes or no answer to your question...not trying to be evasive...hope you understand a little more though at the complexity
