Was Netcom profitable? What was their rate of subscriber growth? These are the questions that have to be asked before evaluating the value of a company. I would think that Mindspring is growing faster than Netcom. I use three ISPs in my company, Mindspring, Netcom and AT&T. Mindspring and Netcom have provided rock solid connections. AT&T drops carrier every 15 minutes or so.

It is difficult to argue against your reasoning. For months I've watched these "web-based" stocks climb 400,600 even 1200%, all the while standing on the sidelines using the same arguments you have used above. For some reason they seem to continuing higher! I am beginning to wonder whether they are ever going to crash at all!

And analysts seem to have gone nuts too. Take AOL for example. With standard valuation maybe $15-20, so what does Paine Webber say about that? $165 target!!
