Bernard,

Ever since the Mayor of NY City started handing out tax abatements for information-enabling office buildings, the landlords here have been touting Silicon Alley Plug and Play attributes. One building on Maiden Lane behind the Federal Reserve Building has a 30' by 6' sign emblazoned across its facade that boasts:

"Fiber Optic Backbones from Multiple Carriers! Fiber to every Office! T1s, T3s, OC3s, Oc12s! Web Hosting Services!" etc. etc.

Haven't seen anything about GE yet, but you may have something there.

Regards, Frank C.

Bernard, not outrageous at all. See today's WSJ--none other than Donald the Trump is going into the "wire the apartment complex" game. He claims to own/manage/otherwise control 20,000 units in NYC and "knows all the other owners" and is hell bent to provide bandwidth. He cheerily admits to not knowing what bandwidth (actually the Internet) is, but he's gonna give it to 'em anyway! Far be it from me to say him nay. Regards, Mike Doyle
