Chris-- Or they are building reserves in anticipation of flooding the market with WCW titles in early 1999. This may be important because THQI must have the units in manufacturing (Sony or Nintendo) or in inventory before December 29, 1998. I expect to see THQI build their inventories with WCW titles in Q4, so that there will be enough titles to have a significant earnings impact. The titles that I'm referring to specifically are WCW Nitro (PC), WCW Nitro Live (PSX), WCW Nitro (N64), and to a lesser extent, WCW/NWO Revenge (N64). By building reserves now, THQI is establishing a margin of insurance in case the WCW titles are not absorbed by the market. Of course, I expect to see Q1 and Q2 (1999) to have fairly high reserve rates. This should continue. 1999 should be very strong, largely because of recurring sales of 1998 products. I'm already seeing signs that several games previously scheduled for Q3 have been pushed out to Q4, according to several release lists. Furthermore, we can expect to see some Q4 titles pushed to Q1 99. And so on. We've already seen the 2 EA titles for N64 pushed to the second half of 1999, and we may see additional titles pushed toward the end of 1999. Who knows? Maybe THQI will release the WWF titles (perhaps with the Tomy TR3 engine) for the PSX and N64 in Q1 2000, and perhaps the same title for Project X and Dreamcast in Q2 2000. Hopefully, by then, we will see some prolific development coming from the GameFX studio. By the way, someone was going to speak with Noah Davis at GameFX recently. I don't remember who it was. Any word on how the meeting went? By the way, I just sent Jill a message for Chris. Todd
