Petz, >>"Why would IBM want MOT's Cu process?"<<

IBM is not promising 1GHz stuff, but MOT is. A desperate company is promising an even more desperate one the sky. That is a case of the blind leading the blind!

Anyway, are you going to welcome me into the Family? I went `fishing' today. Placed a day order for 1K at $16.50, pocket change. To my dismal surprise, I got it! I hope I make at least a few bucks out of this short term deal.

John,

Re: ""Why would IBM want MOT's Cu process." Duh, maybe it results in
smaller faster gates!."

Earth to John ... IBM gave the copper damascene process to Motorolo as
part of the PPC development effort. IBM is well ahead of Motorolo in
process development. Remember, Motorolo is having such bad business
conditions that they are "laying off" 15,000 employees, mostly from their
IC groups.

Make It So,
