Clinton's achievements are unparralelled. So's your spelling. Pubic school, was it?Economy: best in century. Somehow, despite confiscatory tax rates and more federal business regulations than ever. I'm self-employed. I know.Environment: total reversal of Reagan policies, resulting in clean air, harbor cleanups, preservation of wildlife and parks. What Reagan policies? Been to Los Angeles or Denver recently? No clean air there.Foriegn affairs: peace. The folks in Bosnia, Israel, and Somalia will be happy to hear this. Not to mention the newest victims in Northern Ireland.Crime: lowest levels in half a century. You've got to be kidding. Then why is every Democrat promising even more cops on the street for the upcoming election?Education: renewed emphasis and teacher/student testing. And the lowest test scores in American history. Seen where Arkansas was rated 50th out of 50 for test scores while he was governor? And why does he send Chelsea to a private school and forbid low- and middle-class Americans to do the same with school vouchers? (Hint: NEA)Energy: lowest cost, abundant supply. He made more oil? Or maybe he supplied the funds to build more nuclear power plants. How environmentally incorrect.Race: poor, but funally being addressed. There is no race problem. It is Mr Clinton and his Democrat friends who insist there is. Labor: highest wages in history. Accompanied by the highest retroactive tax rates in history. Social Security: he's fixing this now. I'm betting against it. As long as he keeps raiding the fund for general spending, I'd be smarter to trust my own trading skills rather than Mr Clinton's bureaucratic dictums. He rates at the top end of presidents, trailing only FDR and LBJ. I can't comment on FDR. Before my time. Mr Johnson, on the other hand, sent me to Vietnam, where I lost two friends, considerable blood, and more than a little naivete about what politicians say and what they do. How many billions of dollars have we poured into his "Great Society" and his "War on Poverty," only to see the costs continue to escalate while the Democrats themselves tell us the problem is getting worse? Sorry. Your Mr Clinton will be a footnote to history, along with Millard Fillmore, Jimmy Carter, and Gerald Ford. And he will be as reviled as Richard Nixon. He is, and always will be, a laughingstock without any meaningful legacy outside of his pathetic attempts to take credit for events beyond his control. RS
