I loaded up last week as well. Wow. Good for the Q. Maybe this investment will finally start to be fun. Congratulations to all.

Good for you Doug! Now I've only got Ramsey left to hassle, waiting for the great crash of 1998 as some bad debts in Japan, Korea and here and there collapse the whole thing. While the Dow roars on up, dismaying Alan Greenspan and soothsayers using old ideas of how 'economics' works. They are right, but they are a bit like Newtonian physicists - their theories work on earth, but not when heading for the speed of light, or in big gravitational fields, or more precisely dense wave function 'places'.

Alan needs to add up the world's labour force, not that in the USA when he considers inflationary pressures. Somebody in China moving to a $4000 per year job isn't much of an inflationary pressure in the USA. The US$ is becoming even more an international currency. Lucky to be able to tax the world by way of printing more US$! They better enjoy it while they can because the Web and real asset backed property like Qualcomm will become the currency people use, doing a brief 'pass through the system' comparison with real money to establish a number to transact. No store of value function for dollars, just a trading value. The successful currency will be a stable and predictable one. With competition between currencies.

As an all out Q/Lor/G* player, the most creative i get is an occasional reallocation within my triumverate. Right now I am loading over somewhat aggressively to G*. After today it is the most compellingly undervalued. Last week it was Qualcomm, and I hyperallocated over there at 54, just in time to make a quick 8 1/2 points before selling those shares a little prematurely today. I did get in to G* at under 25 though. However I hold a core untouchable amount of all three that I won't sell until I hit my targets. My targets: Qualcomm:200 Loral:140 G*:175.

When I hit my targets, projected in 3-5 years if all goes well, I cash in half.

20% of my portfollio is allotted for trading in other companies for fun and profit kind of like a hobby.
