One of the secrets of SAP's success is that SAP concentrates on the products and keeps consultancy by SAP employees to a minimum, thus allowing many others also to earn money off of the SAP products.
Smart, Smart, Smart! This builds the "value chain" to many other companies and keeps the consultants pushing SAP because they make a buck off it. This is a major "Gorilla" characteristic.
Also: to all of you who have been posting explanations of how SAP works internally, Many Thanks! This is the type of info that made me a subscriber to SI.
