Goldman Sach's research note this AM notes the failure of the two satellites, as well as a couple others:

1. Having some marketing/customer service problems. "The company indicates, however, that on the marketing front it must improve its customer response time and step up this effort prior to commercial launch."

2. The time for beta testing is down to three weeks. Questions about the technical readiness of the system by 9/23 launch date.

Generally, the words "tight schedule" or something to that effect were used a lot, indicating a very narrow margin for error.

As I write this, G* is bouncing off daily lows and I* continues to drop. (Down 7) Hopefully we're at a pretty good level of support here.

BTW, should we expect a similar number of failures in G* sats whenever they are finally launched? (10%)

Thanks

mmeggs

Dollars to donuts it IS the momentum wheel again; or at least, they haven't ruled that out yet.

I think if it was something else they would have been quick to say so, to exclude the fleet problem issue.
