Just some thoughts on the returned emails. I reread them just now. There were 4, 2 confirming they knew of the housing project, two claiming the PR was legitimate. Let's assume for the moment they all 4 are true. First of all, We have confirmation that a mortgage/real estate deal was cut. That's excellent. Now, why would there be a press release saying there was a company trying to sell the public on a phony deal when indeed you get confirmation from a government employee that there was one? You will not get a better confirmation of a deal from a government underling than that (You don't actually think a cabinet level person would answer email?) Secondly, If you were a government grunt and you received a barrage of emails from a bunch of pinkie communist Americans that you'll never meet, questioning the veracity of a press release on your own government's official website. What would you respond? Maybe something like "The release is from Ministry of Housing, here's their number if you need more information..."? What did you expect them to say? I really see no 'condemning' evidence here. We have confirmation that there is a deal (we'll get no better from them I'm sure), we have a PR of questionable origin and information contradicting that fact. The two emails saying it is official were from an admin. Not a Cabinet member. Which is their job. There will be no retraction of the PR - too embarassing. Maybe we'll be lucky and they'll delete it. If they do, this alone will show us clearly that John knows someone high up enough to actually get it changed. This will speak volumes to those who listen. John should address this, but don't expect Belize to do somersaults, you'll be disappointed. As always these are my opinions. Also, this message not directed at anybody in particular.
