I also think that the split will help AMTD's stock price, although it won't do anything for their business. Right now AMTD has very low institutional investorship. Once there is a larger number of shares available it becomes easier for funds to get involved.

I thought the split announcement was a little odd when the stock was around 35. It's so easy to buy odd lots these days. Does anyone have a broker who charges more or gets worse prices on odd lots?

I don't understand why the number of outstanding shares has anything to do with funds having an easier time getting involved. It's not like there's a larger percentage of outsandings available or that liquidity is better.
