<< How much more proof do you need to see it my way?>>

Your "proof" is that "Mrs. Clinton is travelling by bus around America honoring national treasures. Yesterday she was in upstate NY honoring the women's sufferage(sic) movement."? or that no "viscious redneck" can change your mind?

I'm underwhelmed.

This week Mrs. Clinton is travelling by bus around America honoring national treasures. Yesterday she was in upstate NY honoring the women's sufferage movement. These are things that need to be done to solidify the people of this nation.

You are right on on this one. This is the kind of thing a First Spouse should be doing.

What she normally does is run WH policy and NOBODY ELECTED HER TO DO THAT.

Greenpeace: If you should ever be interested enough you might want to read Partners In Power by Roger Morris. Why I think this particular book about the Clintons carries more credibility than others is the author. Morris is an avowed leftist-no insult-his definition. He wrote a scathing book about Nixon too. He chronicles Bill and Hillary's ascent from their childhood and one characteristic that stands out above all others is their more or less total disregard for people other than themselves. I have discussed this subject with other liberals who, in a frank discussion, will admit this about the Clintons and that it's really nothing new - but he's their guy right now and they have to stand by him, much as Nixon's supporters did up until the last minute. What we are confronted with here is politics - plain and simple. He does whatever will get him votes and what works for him is the people's naively believing he cares about them - that he and Hillary really care about them.

Regarding your accusal of many of the charges coming from the Religious Right (a group to which I do not belong)....are charges in the same vein any less onerous to you if they come from the secular left? The only thing that counts is the truthfulness of the charges-not from whence they came. Both sides are guilty of hyperbole, I just think there's been a lot more coming from the secular left than from the Religious Right-IMHO.

Once again you can't see the forest for the trees. You said "He's really a man who cares about people and that shows through the priorities of his tenure". This is a man who doesn't even care enough about his life partner to respect her. People who really care do it all of the time. Not just when the cameras are on or the media is around. They care enough not to humiliate those closest to him. Wake up. If you really think that he hasn't slept with any of these many accusers, you really do need help. If he'll do that to his wife, what will he do to people he doesn't even know. Please continue to post your opinions. But please give everyone here a little bit of consideration. I did fall off the turnip truck at night, but it wasn't last night.

Green Pee,
Again, you prove that the socialist democratic party appeals to the individuals of lessor intellect. You fit in very well with this crowd. Don't you agree that this is a good example of your group's "brilliance"?

THE WIT AND WISDOM OF MARION BARRY, ESQ.

Some of the finest quotes from the Honorable Marion Barry.

"The contagious people of Washington have stood firm against diversity during this long period of increment weather."
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"I promise you a police car on every sidewalk."
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"If you take out the killings, Washington actually has a very very low crime rate."
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"First, it was not a strip bar, it was an erotic club. And second, what can I say? I'm a night owl."
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"Bitch set me up."
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"I am clearly more popular than Reagan. I am in my third term. Where's Reagan? Gone after two! Defeated by George Bush and Michael Dukakis no less."
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"The laws in this city are clearly racist. All laws are racist. The law of gravity is racist."
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"I am making this trip to Africa because Washington is an international city, just like Tokyo, Nigeria or Israel. As mayor, I am an international symbol. Can you deny that to Africa?"
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"People have criticized me because my security detail is larger than the president's. But you must ask yourself: are there more people who want to kill me than who want to kill the president? I can assure you there are."

"The brave men who died in Vietnam, more than 100% of which were black, were the ultimate sacrifice."
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"I read a funny story about how the Republicans freed the slaves. The Republicans are the ones who created slavery by law in the 1600's. Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves and he was not a Republican."

"What right does Congress have to go around making laws just because they deem it necessary?"
- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

I don't think your points on the economy, crime or environment hold water. As for foreign affairs and education, you make a reasonable case. However, I'm still not conviced.

OK, how about a couple of thought experiments?

Economy: Logic dictates that if Clinton is responsible for the roaring bull market and low inflation, he should be able to reverse the process at will. Question: what can he possibly do to STOP the economic growth we've seen since he took office, and in particular, since 1994 when the Republicans gained power in Congress? If he is powerless to stop it (as I think he is), then he shouldn't take credit for it. He's a bystander.

Environment: I heard today that Clinton authorized $100 million in federal money to buy air conditioners and fans for the folks who are sweltering in "the West," wherever that might include. (Curiously, no one said "Texas," but there is a Republican governor there. So much for bipartisan politics.) These air conditioners and fans run on electricity, the generation of which is - you guessed it - harmful to the environment, according to the environmentalists. Personally, I don't think it's the role of the federal government, let alone the Executive Branch, to supply millions of air conditioners to its citizens. You have to admit that this certainly smacks of populist vote-buying of the lowest order.

These are things that need to be done to solidify the people of this nation.

To solidify and unite the people of this nation, may I submit that Clinton, Jackson, and Sharpton stop telling us how racist we are and focus on how similar we are, with common goals instead of divisive quota systems and special privileges based on race, income, gender, and sexual orientation. It is the Democrats who thrive on allowing everyone to claim victim status, for they are more than willing to practice economic redistribution in order to retain power. "Tax the rich" is one of their favorite slogans, and it's easy to say. There are more poor people than rich people, and on a block-vote basis, the poor will always vote for the guy (or gal) who promises them free money. Gerrymandering makes the procedure even easier, as I'm sure Maxine Waters will tell you (off the record).

...Not Ken Star and his witch hunt.

Let's get this straight, once and for all. Ken Starr was appointed by Janet Reno to run the investigation into Whitewater, after Reno had seen enough evidence to suggest a crime had been committed. He did not ask for this job; he was told to do it by the Attorney General. When he was able to show just cause to expand the investigation to include the FBI files, the Travel Office firings, and possible perjury in the Lewinsky matter, Reno allowed him to do so. He cannot, and he does not, investigate cases that she hasn't authorized.

A lot of the scandals talked about on this thread are fabrications of the religious right. That's why so much money has been spent and no action has been taken against the Clintons. No action will be taken because he's done nothing wrong.

C'mon. The religious right put 900 FBI files in the White House? (Don't forget - Charles Colson went to prison for having ONE FBI file in Nixon's White House.) The religious right provoked Mrs Clinton into firing Billy Dale? The religious right invited a known drug dealer and a known arms dealer into the White House to shake Clinton's hand? The religious right arranged the transfer of NSA crypto missile guidance systems to China? The religious right made campaign contributions that were discovered to have been illegal and had to be returned? The religious right kidnapped John Huang and Charlie Trie to mainland China so they couldn't appear before a grand jury?

No action has been taken yet because Starr wants to leave no stone unturned, he wants to be absolutely sure that the evidence he has is verifiable and correct, and he wants to drop it all at once so there will be no time for damage control and character assassinations that are the hallmarks of the Clinton Administration.

Greenpest,

Well I see you've had 7 responses to your pathetically lame response to Rick Slemmer. So I wouldn't want to be accused of piling on....Curious about one thing, though. Your name implies a concern for our environment. I hope it doesn't disturb you too much, but currently I'm reviewing for submission, a 56 page document sent to my company to procure a bid for our services relating to an environmental remediation project. This is a particularly nasty site, one that we have successfully bid in the past. Of course, since it is federal site, my biggest concern is do I really want this contract. I know that I would have to "lowball" the bid price to win the contract, (governmental procurement procedures, you know), but that would mean we would have to cut some corners to make the job profitable. I just don't know whether the 500K is worth the "irritation" factor. But then again, perhaps I should review the "set aside" provisions, there might just be something there for vicious rednecks, definitely a persecuted minority, that might just be one angle to make the contract worth our attention.

Now, just what is it that you do to clean up our environment? Since the federal government is by far the largest known polluter of hazardous waste in this country, maybe you have some contribution you'd like to make....... I know, instead of adding a buck on your tax return for much needed campaign funds, maybe you could persuade your Congressman or Senator to add another box to check for contributions for the cause of cleaning up the rest of the polluted DOD sites. Do it for the children......bp
