ADPT survives again with a nice profit. I say to hell with the idiots who propose to write downgrades, I stand to buy cheaper shares at innocent indescretion. Long live adpt.

norm: I wish there was better news to report, but I'd rather all the bad news come out so we can stop all the guessing. Tomorrow and next week we will get the analysts' revisions for the quarter and the year, downward, of course. Expectations will therefore fall, even mine. The Symbios "thing" is out of the way, with all of its mystery and expense. We know that inventory will be cut and revenues will drop this quarter.

Still, there are hints of new products awaiting introduction later this quarter and next. The company still believes in a SCSI solution to bandwidth problems and expects Ultra2 to continue higher sales. And the company is pushing along several paths for bandwidth solutions. It is adhering to its core business--that is a good thing. It's not expanding into the tobacco business or real estate. And the $682M cash is nice. If it stays focused, reduces expenses, reduces inventory, and continues to develop neat products on several business fronts, it should recover from this awful slump. Those in a hurry to make a buck might want to look elsewhere.
