Random Notes............... Tons of news events backend loaded into the third quarter. I understand the PIP---Mitsubishi appeal has been put on the calender to be heard at the Federal Circuit court of appeal for September 10. Don t know how long it takes on average for the court to render a decision. Maybe somebody else does... It's worth reviewing some the the recent patents awarded to Ampex. The one titled "Two Gap Magnetic Heads" makes for interesting reading as it apparently "obviates the need for separate read and write heads" in magnetic storage systems; which is what the current MR configurations are. Keeper is used either on the head or the platter so the new heads can be used with conventional platters. Take a look.. It also makes me believe this combo of head and keeper technology will be designed into the new disk drive/DST product due this year, going back to the basics of introducing new technology into high end products that will filter down to the mass market {hard disk drive}... Just my opinion....
