><>...You've got warts?!...><>

lol Barney. Warts? That's funny Jack.

I thought they were extinct. Last time I heard of anybody that had any was in the 50's.

A funny story, but true.

About 15 yrs. ago I was traveling with my brother-in-law to check on the horses he owned. He was going to talk to a man who was supposed to be taking good care of his horses on his ranch. He had been told by others that his horse was not being well cared for by the keeper. He ws told that this guy had a real mean streak. My brother-in-law was not convinced and wanted to talk to the guy personally about it.

At some point in this 2hr drive we began, for some unknown reason,(which I don't remember anyway) discussing warts. And how they used to be a common sight on many people...in the good old days.
Well then that led to talking about the "Wizard of Oz" and how the mean old witch had a big one right on her nose, and we jokingly concluded that, that is where they got their start, from meanness.!

Well of course we moved on to bigger and better conversations.

Some time later we arrived at the ranch. We were greeted at the gate by a ranch hand who directed us to the area of the horse and it's keeper. We pulled into a parking area, and lo and behold the keeper approach us and my brother-in-law and I almost laughed ourselves to death. He had the biggest and ugliest warts we had ever seen...all over his face. No kidding Jack it took us about 5 min. to compose ourselves.

Well we finally did compose ourselves...,apologized, and told the guy that we had heard something funny on the radio just before we got out of the car.

To make a long story short it turned out that the guy was the kindest, most gentle man either of us had ever encountered. He loved this horse and the horse loved him.

So much for rumors and and snap conclusions about Wizards and witches with warts.

Have a good weekend
Shalom....><>
BTW...we did laugh all the way home...and for weeks after that...to this day we still at times remember that event with a good laugh.

I love David, Barney. He was great then, and he would be equally interesting now, except he would not have the chance on a one on one as in his time.

This does not justify David Worship. I don't believe he was put there to worship. And using him as a constant excuse for sin all you want and God loves you anyway is a brand new evil doctrine which they can only justify in the life of David, apparently.

That again I will just throw out, hardly justifies a new doctrine that David was second only to Christ. He was in the same lineage but only if Jesus had obsessed upon David, constantly pointing to David as HIS original inspiration, and a protype of Jesus, upon which God based Jesus, then I could see worshipping David.

David "worship" is relatively new, Barney. As you will remember, he has always been a source of comfort in God's forgiveness. The placing of him next to Jesus seems to be rather new, isn't it?

Personally I believe looking at David's life after he reached 20 and saying do exactly like David did is not in line with the teachings of Christ and the apostles. But I will now look up David in the N.T. and see what they had to say as to what extent we should use David's life as an example. I don't believe he should be used as a standard for carnal praise, especially since this act ushered in the period of his life which was catastrophic downfall.

Again, that's just me. I haven't been around carnal Christian jive for 5 years, and the more I stay away, the more peaceful my life grows and them more I love Jesus rather than argue with Him about what's going on.

:)

And I have just made the point that picking up my exact study of David verse for verse after being curious about this period of his life for years was illuminating.

Perhaps I should keep posting the life of David here for instruction on how to do it right, and how to completely and utterly destroy everything if you don't. And how to rebuild back to a state of fellowship from there.

But not to worship the fallen and revived. THAT alone belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ, does it not?
