One of the largest criticisms of dealing with central american countries has ALWAYS been politics and corruption. Surely this doesn't suprise anybody. Look at all the bad press Mexico has received over the years. Every person posting on this thread with first hand experience has stated flatly that there are many games played. Fact is that this is a VERY risky endeavor. Even after the foundations are poured and construction begins there is risk. Maybe this explains why DD on companies with similar arrangements is impossible to find, they ain't out there. If you look at previous posts, there were 2 emails from Belizian government personnel that said they knew of the company, we have confirmation from the American Consulate (which in this case is probably our best 3rd party source yet...) that PRWT's subsidiary exists and is in good standing. This government has never had to deal with the US Government as it does now - since this is a NAFTA deal. I bet we see less of this over time. Too bad we were first. But on the flip side, good we were first, if John can pull it off. Holding long and buying more...
