Brian,

I have not read any article of substance on this topic so the following is more of a question than an answer.

CDMA has been tested and ready to be launched in 3 huge Chinese markets for some time now. Why hasn't Great Wall gone ahead? One of the main reason supposedly is due to the PLA's (People's Liberation Army) involvement.

It has not been covered in the western press but China had been going after corruption like there is no tomorrow. The problem, however, is so deep rooted that only time will tell whether they are just chipping at the tip of the iceberg or laying the ground work required to transform China into a modern economy. Last week, Jiang ZeMin finally started WWIII. He is now openly attacking and ordering the PLA to get out of "business". I regret not copying down an article that shows the massive business holdings of the PLA, only to find the article has now expired on the net.

Of major concern here is obviously the piece of the pie that the PLA holds, which may be the main reason for delaying CDMA in China.

ERICY is probably going to report next week that China is now their number one market. I would love to see QC crash their celebration party with the announcement of a major launch in Beijing and Shanghai.
