I don't know all the rules.

The quiet period is 3 weeks before the quarter closes until 48 hours after the earnings release.

In general, you're trying to perform an impossible task. It's more or less illegal to prop up or otherwise manipulate the stock price. The constant demand for 7% of the shares each day for 6 weeks could slowly raise the price, but there shouldn't be anything you can detect.

Do you know any other company-buyback rules? Are there other periods (such as quiet time before earnings) when buybacks are prohibited?
I'd like to get a feel for how to detect when the company might be repurchasing.

There is one more rule Re-Company buyback that I am aware of:

The purchase has to be between "30 minutes after market open, and 30 minutes before closing".
