FUNDAMENTAL Reason??
Fundamentals have nothing to do with the recent activity. And if you can answer the following one, you'll have the answer to your own question:

In December 1995 RACE jumped up from 4+ to 5+ on some innocuous news. It remained in a trading range around 3-4-5 until May 1996, when it began an advance to $24 by Nov/Dec...WITH NO NEWS WHATEVER to support this...no earnings increases, maybe a lawsuit dropped, but no fundamental business news. Not a THING on the news wires, month after month.
I was out in May 96 and did not get back in until this "sub $1" trading occurred on heavy volume. From Dec 1996 it has marched irretrievably backwards...so WHY was it -ever- at $24???....

"recent talks with" mentioned in the press release. That is the reason for the recent activity

Drakes,
I'll bet your right on that call! No fundamental reason.
But I'll also bet there is a real reason. True or untrue,
somebody told somebody something. 7,000,000 shares in
this company in a few trading days is a lot of concentrated
interest. None of the "public" seems to know anything so it
would appear well targeted. I would be very interested in
offshore shorting numbers. I'm waiting for the second shoe.
