Emile, your wife may perceive that some miracle of healing happened to her, and you might believe that, also. Is this your Jewish, pagan, or atheist wife, incidentally? How many women are there? However, there are many reasons people spontaneously recover from illnesses, including misdiagnosis, sheer will and the very strong healing instincts of the body coupled with a determined spirit.

Last weekend my favorite cat was outside, and refused to come home for two days. My husband went for a drive around the neighborhood to look for her, or her sweet furry little body lying smashed at the side of the road. At the same time, I decided to call her persistently from the backyard. My husband came home, walked out onto the patio, at the very time Lizzie came running. He told me that he had prayed for her do to that, which surprised me, because he usually keeps his religious beliefs pretty private. Well, I just thought that was all a big coincidence, my own superior cat calling skills, or something else random. He is sure her coming back was some kind of miracle.

I guess what I am saying here is that miracles actually have many plausible explanations. On the other hand, here is what several respected professors of religion have to say about the climate in Jerusalem when Jesus was executed, and how it got embellished later in the Bible. It is important to understand that there is no way at all to substantiate the Bible as fact. The story is more like a rolling stone going downhill, gathering the moss of religious fervor.
