FYI, Microsoft Upbeat Despite Slower Growth

<<But despite the somewhat perfunctory
warnings, Gates said the Redmond,
Wash., software giant was "in the best
position of any technology company."
Other top executives were equally upbeat
about prospects for the coming year with
revenue driven by its core business of
Windows computer operating systems and
Office applications. >>

<< As the shippment of PCs worldwide will grow by 15% to 20%, will see the revenue of MSFT will grow in the range of 30% to 40%. And the more families have pcs the more revenues MSFT will grow from its E-Commerce business. >>

If you look at the current shipment of PC's and carry this idea forward you'll see that households will eventually have to buy new PC's every 6 months. And if you think *that* is too far in the future, then you are not properly accounting for Microsoft's high valuation.

As the shippment of PCs worldwide will grow by 15% to 20%, I will see the revenue of MSFT will
grow in the range of 30% to 40%.

I don't know what MSFT's profits will grow at in the future - all I know is that over the last year the growth rate has slowed down considerably. I see this as a major change whereas the bulls either are ignoring this or think it is an aberration.
