Well, I do not know how did you come to the conclusion that over the last year
MSFT's growth rate has slowed down considerably, and what data is your conclusion is based on. However , based on the data from SI (Company profile), I will like to
show you the following data:

3/31/97 6/30/97 9/30/97 12/31/97 3/31/98 6/30/98
Rev (MM) 3208 3175 3130 3585 3774 3995
Net profit
(MM) 1035 1060 959 1126 1337 1350

Net profit
margin(%) 32.3% 33.4% 30.6% 31.4% 35.4% 33.8%

I did not see the revenues or profit margin slowed down considerably in either
1997, or 1998. So, pls explain how do you come to the conclusion that
Microsoft's growth rat has slowed down considerably !!!

>>I don't know what MSFT's profits will grow at in the future - all I know is that over the last year the growth rate has slowed down considerably. I see this as a major change whereas the bulls either are ignoring this or think it is an aberration.<<

And what major products did they release last year? And what major products are they planning on releasing this year? Microsofts valuation is NOT based on the past, it is based on future expectations. I am incredibly pleased that they had such a stellar year with basically no new products out. Just think what will happen when Office, SQL, Win98, NT5 and others hit the market!

We bulls are not ignoring the "slowdown" for the past year. We are simply elated that they were able to turn in a decent year with very little to work with and are downright hysterical about the coming year when they have tons to work with!
