FAbeyes, Disagree about MU showing the world how to make DRAM. My understanding is that they were using technology under a license from IBM.

fab, seems you have a good grip of mu reality. it is a highly competitive, cut throat business going through hard times - and nobody has a real big advantage. my bet is that those diversified out of dram - read many, but not all, asian companies - with deep pockets - incl govt financing - will win.

winning i'll define as stay in business and eventually make marginal profits as the boom of the early 90s won't be seen ever again in dram, imho.

good luck.

Fabeyes,
Your data is right, Hyundai and Samsung can do this, LG is not there yet. They are carefully watching the market hoping for a turnaround with these shutdowns and cutbacks, while fine tuning the receipe, I dont think many realize they are good at this already and I have to say they have excellent DRAM quality and reliability.
