I happen to think the AMD design guys are pretty good.

The K6 was a pretty elegant design with reasonable performance.

I think the K7 will be good too.

The big question will be ability to manufacture.

As you know the K7 has a much larger die size than K6 so good defect density and process excellence are even more important.

I hope that AMD is going to run K7 at IBM as well as in-house for them to have a real shot at Intel.
