With the T/TCI/BT and now GTE and Bell Atlantic it appears that WCOM has awakened the sleeping giants. Any thoughts to competitive pressures that will be placed on WCOM by these alliances/mergers? Hope the "100 day plan" has some punch!!

AW -

I haven't read all the details but it looks to me as if AT& T have effectively bought BT.

It surprises me a little because I thought the BT egos wouldn't allow it but I guess that the institutions and the board warned them not to screw it up again or else. Not that it matters because WCOM is still a lot more dynamic and the coporate cultures of AT&T and BT are bound to be more conservative (other than Mr Armstrong) and in this environment for the Teleocm industry more conservative just means you will lose.. plain and simple.
