Glad to hear one opinion for the SCSI technology. I for one do not know what the heck Adaptec sells or how many competitors it has. I am mainly a fundamentalist who hope Adpt will return to their glory days. The only hope I have now clinged on to insider's buying lightly and open interest in options favor Adapt going up more then going down. And the gross profit margin only declined 4% last quarter.

Tony B, I agree that SCSI is far from dead. Au Contraire, it's very much alive and well.

It looks like Adaptec doesn't necessarily have the inside track on it anymore, though. Seems Symbios has gotten themselves designed in on Intel's upcoming Xeon based servers. The SC450NX, below, is Intel's flagship server product. A huge goal that Intel has for it (actually the Xeon chips in it) is to raise their ASP's from the lows that have happened because of the sub $1000, or, whatever PC, and some competition from AMD, etc. Besides that, this server and its cousins are going to vault NT way over the top of UNIX (I know Intel has had a couple of flaws in the Xeon chipset). Kind of surprising to me that they're taking Symbios along for the ride, instead of Adaptec. The first URL has the detailed spec., the second has a pretty picture. Point to the descriptives of the various components in the server, and see them pop out for more detail.
