MMeggs, There is currently a field trial for B-CDMA WLL going on in China by Samsung and another to start in the fall in Iowa. Siemens is planning to market B-CDMA WLL in India. Years back there was a patent infringement suit over Cdma between IDC and Qcom it was settled out of court and Qcom paid Idc 5 million dollars. At that time there was some kind of agreement with regards to patent usage.
B-CDMA WLL in its present form lacks mobility and will be offered only for fixed WLL.
