I belive it says that the LOT is $12,000-$10,000, anybody- is the $33,000 loan amount for the construction, or does the lot/w house figure into this?

In my area, it's common to choose a homesite (like the 10k to 12k prices you saw) and then choose the model of home to be built on that site (resulting in an additional price, depending on the model and custom features). The development in Belize may be using this method.

Giovanni smith is a real estate broker and developer. The lots sell for between 10 - 12,000 each. the finished home, obviously would be more.

The homes are pre-engeneered , which means the walls, floor joists, rafters, sheathing etc. is built in a factory and then installed on site.

I had the opportunity to watch a BayCastle home get built this way.

The foundation was poured, over a week, and then the house was delivered on four transport trucks, and each section was lifted and put in place by crane.

The end result, is that the house was assembled in hours, and fully finished 5 days later.

Viceroy also builds these types of homes.

Prefab is becoming a huge business, because the houses are built indoors in a controlled environment, and not subject to the weather.

It is also less expensive, since labor isn't as costly.

in areas where housing is difficult to come by, especially affordable, wouldn't you be willing to put a down payment on a plot of land when a developer shows you plans for the community...this is VERY common and this is how so many homes are being built today..this way the potential buyer can pick out options to fit his needs...I bought a brand new home in Atlanta and this type of purchases go on all over the place..and we don't have a housing shortage
