capital market open for hypesters, hucksters, big
money "smart" folks, jerks, and even crooks, to make money,
to be gurus.

So maybe it is better for biotech companies
to avoid the dumb money of the equity markets and
the volatility that this creates.

To what extent do you think that some smart companies
avoid all of that and simply do private placements?

I have shares in ntii and would like to hear opinions
from the members of this thread what they think of biotech
and drug discovery companies who resort to private placements
to fund their operations. Is it generally regarded as bad
short term because it dilutes the shares outstanding, but
good longer term because it keeps the company afloat until
success?

(I mentioned ntii--but don't anybody rush to look at the
chart and assume somebody is buying and get excited--it
traded actively two days last week, but the stock is
essentially dead until news).
