From what I and some others can tell they're pretty broad which is quite a surprise.

What they're worth? It's virtually impossible to set any monetary value on patents until increasing interest in the technology is proven - preferably from at least one big name or by a significant increase in sales.

I suggest looking at what transpired with the buyout of Amati Communications. I don't have the numbers at hand, but I read that the deal turned strictly on the acquisition of technology Amati held, since they were losing $/share each qtr, up to the point of purchase.

Anyone familiar with that story?? I think it was in "Red Herring" magazine.
