TREY you have got to be the most DIE HARD WSTL fan out there. I check this board every "now and then" to read all the hype on my old favorite disaster of a stock. MAN! I hope you haven't been holding all this time. I think the last time I posted all my negative comments on WSTL it was up in the 17 and dropping area... Looks like it hasn't gotten any better lately either. Are you still hoping for that buy out? I must say WSTL looks interesting at this level, the bad news is, it broke it's 2-3 year support in the 9 dollar price range. NOT GOOD. Could be considered a breakout to the downside. Look here and see what I mean about the break out quote.yahoo.com I wouldn't be surprised to see it establish a new support around 5 to 7 range after panic selling. Then it may rally back up to 9 before chapter 11. I mean, before basing out for that mega rally or buy out at 40. Here are some old posts from the WSTL grave yard for ya just for fun.............. Nov 23 1997 "michael- i think 16.25 is going to be the bottom. i'm just glad it didnt bottom at 13<G>. friday was a good indication of what we can expect for the next few weeks. i woudl love to say 'sell above 20 and buy back in the teens', but we never know when the announcements are going to be made. good luck to all, trey" Dec 2 1997 "Trey, You must admit for the time being 17 is resistance. Look at the price action over the last few days, everytime it goes over 17 it's met by selling back down to 16+ area. Although at this point, WSTL is also supported by good buying at around 16 1/8. Today was a good example. I think this price action is called basing. The real story will be which way it breaks out. The down side could be 10 who saids it has to stop higher. It all depends on the quality of the news good, bad or none." Jan 27 1998 "This Consortium thing is just exposing that fact that there is still a long way to go before we see this DSL thing happen. WSTL was a dud today, I was hoping for a more impressive news release from them. I think we may be headed for a test of the 8 dollar support level. Just go back and listen to the conference call now that you can ignore all the speculation of GREAT NEWS releases to come and you'll see WSTL is going no where this year. They say it themselves, nothing happening on the DSL front untill 1999 and even then they sound tenative. The only hope this company has now is to be bought out, period. There will be too many big players who will enter a with DSL modems and kill WSTL. Imagine a small start up trying to get into 56k modems now. DSL will be nothing but a card you install in a PC and everyone will be selling them! " Jan 29 1998 "No I did not buy any Puts on WSTL. But I'am VERY bearish on this company. They make no money and even the promise of future roll outs is starting to get old. The market on ADSL is getting commoditized even before it gets going! Do you think 3Com,MOT or any of the other modem makers are going to Let WSTL take the communications market away from them. These splinterless ADSL cards are a direct threat to them. Look at todays press release from the modem maker Hayes, even this beaten down, recovering from bankruptcy company is getting into the act! Who's next? I see tons of consolidation on the horizon. That means many of these small DSL's will be out of business or bought out at not so great prices! Sure if your lucky and wait 10 -20 more months, someone may buy WSTL at 18+ Or you could look for that other company that is already living their promise, is producing a profit, is a leader in their field and is in an uptrend and spliting periodically! People invest in WSTL on the hope of that next press release but, mean while are missing or failing to see the other boats taking off. Regardless of what it does tomorrow, the WSTL boat does have a leak!" Memories.....
